FAQ

  • Why Should I feed Fresh Food?

Fresh isn’t dry, wet, or raw—it’s gently cooked to keep it safe while preserving all its goodness. We believe in the difference between just getting by and truly thriving. Research shows that a fresh food diet can do wonders for your pet’s health, unlike many processed foods out there. Whether your furry friend is a picky eater or loves everything in sight, we’ve seen firsthand how feeding fresh can make a real difference. It’s not about fancy tricks; it’s about real, fresh meals made easy. It’s still pet food, just the way it’s meant to be.

  • What does Fresh Food mean to us?

Our meals are crafted in kitchens that meet human food standards, where each recipe is cooked gently at low temperatures. After cooking, they are promptly frozen and vacuum-sealed to lock in all the nutrients and make storing them easy for you. Our meals are genuinely fresh and free from preservatives that extend shelf life for years, like many kibbles do. It’s a win-win situation all around and the tail-wagging happiness is worth it!

  • Do I need to refrigerate the food?

Each dog is unique, so your specific plan and pricing options will be tailored to your dog(s) and their dietary requirements, considering factors such as age, weight, activity level, recipe preferences, and more. Plans begin at approximately $4 per day.

  • How do you determine my dogs portions?

We strive to determine the best calorie requirements based on various factors such as breed, age, activity level, and ideal weight. • How often do you deliver?

Currently, we offer local delivery to the North Fork and South Forks of Long Island, and well as the Riverhead area. Delivery days are Mondays and Tuesdays, and how often will depend on how many meals you have. Typically it will be weekly, biweekly, or monthly deliveries completely at your convenience!

  • How long is the food good for?

Since all the meals are vacuum sealed, all the oxygen is removed. This allows all the nutrients to be preserved and the food to last slightly longer. When completely thawed, the meals will usually last between 3 and 5 days. If you are storing them frozen, they can last for weeks or up to 2 months!

  • Can I feed my dog multiple different meals?

Yes!! We recommend 2 different daily meals, one in the morning and a different meal for dinner. This is completely optional though, and ultimately is based on what is most convenient for you!

  • What are your treat options & how are they made?

In the “Snacks & Meals” section, we offer 5 different dog snacks. Each one unique in its own way. They are prepared using real food items, organic or farm foraged if and when possible. Each treat is slow baked to retain as much nutrients as possible, and to ensure they are shelf stable.
